Spatial Analysis
This is a comprehensive collection of analysis that were conducted over a period of 3.5 years as an undergraduate student. The analysis covers a wide range of topics and was accomplished by utilizing various tools and software.
The tools used in this analysis include Stata, a software package used for data management and statistical analysis, ArcGIS, a geographic information system software used for mapping and spatial analysis, spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel, widely used for data management and analysis, and word processors such as Microsoft Word, commonly used for creating professional documents. Additionally, SketchUp, a 3D modeling software, was used to create visual representations of the analysis results. The goal of this collection is to showcase the ability to conduct spatial analysis and the proficiency in using various software and tools to analyze and present the results.
This analysis aims to identify the factors that are impacting the development of the city of Semarang, specifically in terms of educational facilities. The method used is the Principal Component Analysis (PCA), as there was no prior hypothesis. The process includes grouping independent variables, converting the grouped results into factors using eigenvalue indicators, creating scree plots and performing rotations, and creating scatter plots for visualization. The Stata graph indicates that out of the 1-4 components, those with eigenvalues above 1 will be considered as factors, in this case, 4 factors. Eigenvalues give an idea of how much variance is explained by each factor.
The study looked at the business of two restaurants on Jl. Sudirman in Bandung. It started with one non-competing restaurant and then added a new restaurant that was closer to the first one over time. The study found that even though the two restaurants were close to each other, they both had the potential to make profits.
